How to host another channel manually or automatically
Hosting. A great way to help other small streamers/content creators build their following, as well as give viewers to your channel something to watch when you're off-air.
When you host a channel, it's added to the carousel on your offline channel page. Viewers can click the Watch {Channel Name}
link on the bottom left-hand side of the hosting window to navigate through to the hosted channel.
- After logging into your Twitch account, click on your profile picture in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- Click on
Channel
in the drop-down menu. - Once you're on your Twitch channel, there will be a chat section on the right side of the screen.
- Type the following command in the chat
/host USERNAME
replacing USERNAME with the channel you want to host (for example/host JordanTBH
). - Hit the Enter/Return Key to send the command.
- When you want to stop hosting another Twitch user's channel, type
/unhost
into your chat. Otherwise it will automatically end when the streamer ends the stream.
You can transition to another channel using the /host command up to three times in a given 30 minute period, so if the channel you are hosting goes offline, you can switch to hosting a different channel.
Using the autohost feature, you can set your channel to automatically host a list of pre-approved channels when you are not live. Auto hosting is a great way to support your fellow broadcasters and help grow your community.
- After logging into your Twitch account, visit your Channel Settings and click Featured Content at the top.
- Under the Auto Hosting section, click the Autohost channels toggle to
ON
. - To add specific channels to your autohost Click
Autohost List
. On this page, use the search box to find and add channels to your autohost list. Once you've populated your list, you can change the order by dragging and dropping channels up and down the host list.
You can also host all of your favorite streamers from anywhere using the iOS and Android mobile apps. To enable Host Mode on the go, tap the video player on your desired channel, then the Share button, then Host Channel.
